The Championship dates back to 1922, when first played at St.
Andrews. In the following year, Tom Burrell won the title over his home
Course at Troon. The 1923 Championship proved to be a good year for the
Club, not only providing the Winner, but also the bronze medallist J L C
Jenkins.
