the old Scot’s word meaning ditch or burn. A ditch crosses this hole
some hundred yards from the tee and was known as the Goat Burn.
Another
demanding three shotter awaits the player at the twelfth with bunkers
to be avoided off the tee and also the second shot leaving a short
pitch to a green framed with gorse and whin behind.
