A spring, which was located mid-way
along this hole, gives rise to the name.
Great care is
required for the blind tee shot over rough ground and tall whins to
the right and a mid-iron should suffice to the green which lies nicely
framed by a high bank of gorse to the rear and the railway to the
right.
