Following the cancellation of last year’s event due to COVID-19, Royal Troon Golf Club is delighted to announced the 2021 Hillhouse Cup will take place on Sunday 16 May 2021.

The Hillhouse Cup was first played over the Old Course in 1883 after the trophy was presented to the Club by Major McKerrill of Hillhouse. Today, this 18-hole stroke play competition is open to all amateur golfers — aged 16 years and over — who are members of a recognised Ayrshire Golf Club with a handicap index of 5 or less on the date of entry.

This popular competition is limited to a field of 60 players. In the event of an over-entry, the number of players will be cut at 60 in order of ascending handicaps. Players at the same cut-off level will be taken in the order their entry form was received, and the remaining players placed on a reserve list. Due to pressure on tee time availability at Royal Troon, unfortunately there will be no practice round available for this years event.

Entries are now open and will close at noon on Monday 10 May 2021. Entry forms can be downloaded here. Full terms and conditions can be viewed here.
