Oliver Kane of Royal Troon and Jinhan Wang of City of Newcastle took the Boys’ and Girls’ Byrne Howard Junior Open trophies, played over the Portland Course at Royal Troon.
Kane secured the Boys’ trophy with a solid round of 76 in tough conditions, finishing one shot ahead of clubmate Jack Lammie (77). In the Girls’ competition, Wang posted 83 to take the title, with Royal Troon’s Mya Wilson finishing runner-up on 87.
The net prizes also highlighted impressive performances across the field. Gabriel Keane of Whitecraigs produced a standout round of 63 to win the Boys’ 15–17 net category, while Arran Fox edged fellow West Kilbride member Arran Lee on countback in the 12–14 age group after both returned net 70s.
In the Girls’ net division, Turnberry’s Sarah Melvin claimed victory with a net 76, three shots clear of Sophie Macintosh from Whitecraigs.
