The Royal Troon School of Golf

Tuesday 18 December 2018

Over the past 12 months Royal Troon Golf Club has been on a campaign to get young children into the game of golf. This started by engaging with local schools in the area, where 2,500 pupils were offered the opportunity to participate in golf during curriculum time followed by free sessions at the golf club. This resulted in a magnificent Summer Golf Festival where over 200 children attended, enjoying fun games, a free Golphin golf club and an amazing trick-shot show. Successful summer and winter camps followed, and we would like to thank everyone who participated over the course of the year.

We have now established the Royal Troon School of Golf which will be organised and operated by the Club’s team of Professionals. This will provide a safe and fun environment for children to develop their golfing skills, meet friends, and take advantage of all the education, health and wellbeing benefits that golf brings.

Through the programme we can attain our goal of creating a golfing pathway for children of all abilities, from school through to possible golf club membership.

The School of Golf membership is aimed at children between the ages of 5-12 years old. Membership starts at £75.00 per year and includes a series of regular coaching sessions and fun competitions run by the Professionals.

Progression through the School of Golf will allow members access to the driving range, and to the Craigend and Portland golf courses on set days and times, dependent on ability and level of participation.

Due to the success of the past 15 months we anticipate that membership will fill up quickly. If the School of Golf membership would be of interest, or if you require any further information, please contact the Professional Team on 01292 310063 or by email to professional@royaltroon.com.
